The Project
Each year, Vikini Studio collaborates with Vila Universitària, the student housing of Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), to design its promotional and informational materials. From apartment keys, guides, and access cards to merchandising like mugs, t-shirts, sweatshirts, and decorative posters, we ensure that every piece reflects the Vila’s dynamic and welcoming identity.
The Challenge
The challenge is to refresh the visual identity annually while keeping it recognizable. New students arrive each year with fresh expectations, and our goal is to create a modern, engaging, and cohesive visual experience that fosters a sense of belonging.
Beyond functionality, we turn purely informational elements into visually appealing and memorable pieces that students actually want to keep and use—ensuring that even the most practical materials contribute to the Vila’s atmosphere.
The Process
At the start of each academic year, we align with the Vila team to assess needs and explore creative directions. We then craft a coherent visual system that translates across printed guides, access cards, study room decor, and branded merchandise, balancing consistency with fresh, updated designs.
The Impact
By transforming everyday items into well-designed, recognizable assets, we reinforce Vila Universitària’s brand and enhance the student experience. The materials become more than just tools—they help shape a strong identity, making students feel part of a vibrant, connected community from day one.
